Finding the right size
Urn capacity is measured in cubic inches, and there is a gentle rule of thumb that makes choosing simple.
For each pound of their healthy body weight, allow one cubic inch of capacity. A standard adult urn of about 200 cubic inches fits most adults — and when in doubt, size up. Extra room is never a problem.
A small portion, kept close, often one for each family member.
For sharing among family, or for a child or beloved pet.
The standard size, fits most adults comfortably.
Made to hold two, for partners who wished to rest together.

A note from our founder
Dear friend,
We started Forever because we watched families we love pay several times what these things should cost, at the worst possible moment to negotiate. It never sat right with us.
Everything we sell is chosen the way we would choose for our own family, honest materials, honest prices, and a person who answers the phone at two in the morning. If we can carry a little of this week’s weight for you, it will have been worth it.

The gentle rule: allow one cubic inch of capacity for each pound of their healthy body weight. A standard adult urn — about 200 cubic inches — fits most adults. When in doubt, size up; extra room is never a problem.
You never have to do this yourself. Your funeral home or crematory will transfer them with care, usually at no charge — have the urn delivered there, or bring it in. At home it is simpler than families expect: ashes arrive in a sealed inner bag that can often be placed inside whole.
Yes, with planning. TSA screens urns and requires a container that can be x-rayed — wood and bamboo urns typically scan well, while some metal urns cannot and may need to travel another way. Airlines have their own policies too, so call ahead. We are glad to help you plan the trip.
The lid closes securely on its own. If you wish it sealed for good — before burial, for example — a small bead of household adhesive on the threads makes it permanent.
Yes, and many families do. Keepsake urns and cremation jewelry each hold a small portion, so several loved ones can keep them close.
